Ken Nelson is an Arizona native born in Phoenix, Arizona. He graduated from Westwood High School in 1989 and spent many years, prior to moving to Douglas, working for manufacturers’ representatives in the cabinetry, laminate, plastics, HVAC, and plumbing industries. Ken moved to Douglas in 2006 with his wife Sandra who is a Douglas native. They have four children: Matthew, Kendra, Deborah Rose, and Kenny Jr. Ken worked for the City of Douglas prior to his current position with Arizona Public Service. He has been actively involved with the youth in Douglas since his arrival and has volunteered and coached for Douglas Little League, Douglas Girls Softball, and is currently the Douglas Chargers League President, which is a youth football and cheer program. He was president of the City of Douglas Youth Activity Fund prior to running for City Council. Ken enjoys his family, fishing, camping, volunteering, and football. He likes meeting people, solving problems, and being positive.
